DO I QUALIFY FOR REHABILITATIONAND MEDICAL BENEFITS?

It is important to understand that the expense incurred must be as a result of the injury you sustained in the car accident, as well as being reasonable and necessary . In the event your injury is diagnosed as Whiplash, you may be able to receive treatment as outlined in the Pre-approved Framework Guideline without requiring your insurer's prior approval. To receive this treatment your health practitioner must complete and submit a Pre-approved Framework Treatment Confirmation Form to your insurer.

If your injuries are more serious in nature, your insurance company may require that the application include a treatment plan prepared by a health professional. The plan would include a description of the impairment and resulting disability and of the goods and services to be used in the treatment. Your insurer will respond to the treatment plan within 10 Business days of receiving it. If the plan is acceptable, the insurer will pay for expenses within 30 days of receiving invoices.

If any part of the plan is not accepted, the insurer will treat this as a dispute and send you to an Insurer's Examination. Any medical and rehabilitation coverage available to you through other sources must be accessed first.
